New Habits

This lockdown has changed life significantly for most people. The way we stay connected, the way we shop, the way we view the world and the way we live our lives has been forced to change due to the coronavirus. However, there are a lot of positive changes I'll be taking with me when the restrictions ease and life 'goes back to normal'. As the restrictions begin to ease across the country, here's what I'll be trying to maintain:

  • More phone calls. I've got a Sunday zoom chat with my family and we only ever caught up altogether at Christmas so I've felt more connected with them than ever. Same goes for my friendships. Whilst there's nothing like seeing people in person, I would love to keep up the video contact.

  • Supporting Australia by buying local and travelling local. We live in the most incredible country and this big shamoz is the best reminder of that.

  • Being more self-sustainable. The food shortage in supermarkets, whilst ridiculous and unnecessary, was a good push to plant and grow my own food.

  • Spending more time in nature walking, picnicking, riding, gardening, relaxing and spending time with people. This really has taught me that you don't have to go out for a meal or spend money to have a good time. So, in turn:

  • Spending less money.

  • Looking after myself more. I've been loving doing hair treatments, moisturising my face (for anyone who knows me that's a huge achievement) and exercising daily. Now just to eat healthier and drink more water.

  • Celebrate everything. I've been loving thinking of new and exciting ways to celebrate my friends' life milestones.

  • Having more fun! Enjoying the little things like hot chocolates in my hug mug. Having cocktails nights just for the hell of it.

  • Learning new skills. I practised painting with watercolours when making Easter cards for my friends and family and just lately I've been teaching myself about every, single, tiny feature on my drone. Next I want to learn how to edit the video footage!

  • Exploring always. Spending every free day going on a new adventure, even if that's just a bike ride around some new streets. I found the cutest alpacas today just around the corner that I never even knew were there!
